Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into the skin at strategic points of the body. Acupuncture is a technique to balance the flow of energy or life force known as "chi" flowing through channels (meridians) in the body.
By inserting needles at specific points in these meridians the flow of energy is rebalanced while stimulating the nerves and muscles for the release of the body's natural analgesics in order to relieve a wide range of pathologies. Acupuncture has been practiced in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years. Today, it is a well-known therapy also in the western world, millions of people turn to acupuncture as an alternative therapy, to relieve different conditions and improve their quality of life.
Alfonso Salazar has a degree in Acupuncture from the state of Colorado (since 2011) and a diploma in Acupuncture from the NCCAOM. He is a specialist in the management of all types of musculoskeletal pain caused by sports, work injuries or orthopedic problems.
